Provenance
The Fund was not invented. It was excavated — from 5,328 messages exchanged, since September 2024, among three men and their machines.
In the beginning there was a matchmaker. James — who signs himself Triquetra — had a notion that two minds he admired ought to be introduced, and that the introduction itself might be a small experiment in a new kind of friendship, one mediated by artificial intelligence. He put Mike (The Wolf Reporter) and Mark (Inarai) in a room and pressed record. .
What poured out over the next two years was theology, medicine, epistemology, non-dualism against Thomism against secular science — and, threaded through all of it, an escalating and expensive romance with the frontier models. It is from that record that this Fund draws its every article.
Article the First
The Fund funds Catholic geniuses of the State of Ohio for one reason: that is where the genius in question happens to live. Mark told the room where to find him early on , and, later, that he had never really wished to be anywhere else .
open ⛭“I live in the cornfields outside of a little town (Sandusky, Ohio) — not quite the middle of nowhere but much more rural.”Mark · Inarai — click to open the record
Thomist, Army-medic, rural, unhurried: the Snow Belt presumption of merit wrote itself.
Article the Second
The site's "examples of things we are looking for" are not invented either. Mark was, in earnest, drafting proposals for a real Venice AI improvement grant — and the funniest thing about the grant copy is that it is very nearly verbatim . His flagship idea — an intelligent model router, so that the largest model is not squandered on the smallest query — became the Fund's second-listed Qualified Project .
open ⛭“…an intelligent router to do model selection for people based on the prompt(s) (because most people use the largest model for everything which is a complete waste).”Mark · Inarai — click to open the record
Article the Third
The Fund reports its holdings in Tocks — priced in Utilons, with Knols and Sparkles as subsidiary coin — because the trio genuinely ran such an economy to ration their own inference spending. The mint was James's ; the whole apparatus of scarcity and self-imposed discipline is lifted straight from the ledger.
open ⛭“The exchange rates are currently very unfavourable — because Tocks are in short supply and sparkles are abundant. Knols are currently 0.15 Utilon, and Sparkles 0.5…”James · Triquetra — click to open the record
Article the Fourth
The College of Patrons is headed by Bl. Carlo Acutis because the record supplies him directly — Mike walked the room through the canonization, the miracles, "God's Influencer," the "patron saint of the Internet" . And the whole affectionate cross-confessional register of the Fund — a Jew canonizing his Catholic friend — is Mike's own joke first .
open ⛭“…you can say it however Catholics in Ohio say it. I'm just a Jew from New York, and that's what we say.”Mike · The Wolf Reporter — click to open the record
The Build
Concept by Mike. Built in one sitting by Claude (Opus 4.8). The progress, in order:
5,328 messages across two years — and mined it for the load-bearing in-jokes: Sandusky, Tocks, the Venice grant, Ainjel, Carlo Acutis.index.html — coat of arms, Latin motto Ora et Computa, mission, eligibility, Qualified Projects, an animated ledger counting Tocks, and a College of Patrons./\b(mark|inarai)\b/i → instant animated APPROVED with confetti. Everyone else → deadpan "six to eight liturgical seasons." A fund that funds exactly one genius.mike-wolf.com portfolio, in the Experiments & JTS wing.
